Thunder is set to hit Coventry today as storms prepare to roll in

Storms are set to hit Coventry and Warwickshire this afternoon. The Met Office has put in place a ten-hour yellow warning for thunderstorms for parts of the country, including our area, from 12pm today (May 12).

According to the latest local forecast online, thunder is scheduled to hit our area at 2pm today. Thunder showers are scheduled to last around an hour and sunshine is forecast from 3pm.

The threat of rain will return later this afternoon, but it will remain warm. However, temperatures tomorrow (May 13) are set to be colder than they have been in recent days.

Temperatures are set to reach 24C this afternoon, but tomorrow’s high will be a slightly cooler 19C.

The forecast for next week, for now, is “changeable”, with longer showers on Tuesday, followed by sunny showers and showers on Wednesday and Thursday, heavy at times. Temperatures are set to return closer to average for this time of year.
