Chelsea sign Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester City

LONDON (AP) — Chelsea completed the signing of midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester City on Tuesday.

Dewsbury-Hall have agreed a five-year contract with the option of a further 12 months, the English Premier League club have announced. The cost of the transfer was not specified.

“I’m really excited to get going and I can’t wait to show everyone what I can do,” said Dewsbury-Hall, who followed manager Enzo Maresca from Leicester to Chelsea this off-season.

Dewsbury-Hall, 25, was part of Maresca’s Leicester side that won promotion to the Premier League last season.

“I’ve been pretty public about what I think about the new head coach. He is fantastic. He is top notch,” he said. “He completely changed the way Leicester wanted to play last season and we saw it work.

“I’m very confident coming in here that he’s going to implement his style and the guys are going to buy into it and enjoy it.”

Chelsea have endured a turbulent period over the past two years after being bought by American investors Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.

Maresca is the fourth permanent manager to work under the new ownership in that time, following Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter and Mauricio Pochettino.
