Chelsea sign Leicester midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for around £30m

Chelsea have signed Leicester midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for around £30million.

The 25-year-old has penned a six-year deal at Stamford Bridge and is reunited with new Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca after working together last season.

Although the Foxes have lost one of their key players, the transfer will significantly help them in their attempts to stay within the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules.

The fee is booked as pure profit as the midfielder has risen through the ranks at the King Power Stadium.

He made 120 appearances for the Foxes, scoring 17 goals, 12 of which came last season as the club won promotion to the Premier League.

He wrote on Instagram: “Well what can I say? What a trip it was. I dedicated 17 years of my life to this club and it was a pleasure. I have enjoyed every minute of my time at this football club and have made some memories and friendships that I will never forget.

“When we got relegated in the 22/23 season, I felt personally responsible for the part I played in that.

“I set out to make sure we got back into the Premier League in the first season because I know how devastating a position it can be for a club if it doesn’t happen.

“I am very proud of what we achieved together last season – creating memories of a lifetime for all of us. But more than that, we hope to right the wrongs of that relegation season.”

Leicester are interested in signing Michael Golding from Chelsea in a separate deal, news agency PA understands.
