Stacey Solomon’s four-word response as BAFTA hosts mock Joe Swash

Stacey Solomon has hit back at the hosts of the BAFTA TV Awards after they mocked her husband Joe Swash.

The Loose Women panellist, 34, presented the gong for Factual Entertainment at the glittering ceremony on Sunday (May 12) night. Before taking the stage, hosts Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan introduced her on stage and took a shot at Joe.

Romesh said: “Next up is the award for Factual Entertainment and to present it is the host of Sort Your Life Out.” Rob added: “Which is a bit much coming from the person who married Joe Swash. Could you please welcome national treasure Stacey Solomon”.

Before announcing the nominees, Stacey told them: “It’s not that bad.” She went on to tell the audience she was excited to be out of the house with her five kids “and a Joe Swash.” After going through the potential winners, it was revealed that Celebrity Race Across the World had won the gong.

Elsewhere, the comedians poked fun at the economy after Liz Truss’s time as Prime Minister, NHS waiting times and Russian President Vladimir Putin as they hosted the Bafta TV awards.

The duo, who hosted the ceremony for the second time in a row, opened the show with a monologue with plenty of “topical” gags.
