Shooting at Sheffield home ‘targeted attack’ as manhunt underway

Police say a shooting at a home in Sheffield was a “targeted attack”.

South Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after shots were fired at the door of a house in Kearsley Road in the early hours of Monday morning.




Officers were called to the Highfield home at 1.44am on July 1 following reports of criminal damage. Police said: “Officers attended to find that the door of a house had been damaged at around 1.10am by a gun being fired into it.”

The force is treating the shooting as a “targeted attack”. Superintendent Nicola Leach said: “This incident will undoubtedly cause concern in the community and we will be working hard to identify those responsible.

“I would urge anyone with information that could assist us in our investigations to come forward and help us keep our communities safe.”

Anyone with information should call 101 quoting incident number 060 of 1 July 2024. They can also contact the police through their online reporting portal. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online.
