Joint agents appointed to market 625,000 sq ft Wigan employment development

B8RE has been appointed joint agent, alongside Gerald Eve, by developer Glenbrook to market Meridian 6, a 625,000 sq m employment park located on the M6 in Wigan.

The announcement comes after Glenbrook recently secured detailed planning consent for the 40-acre development, on one of the last strategically allocated sites in Wigan, which forms part of the South Lancashire Industrial Estate Primary Employment Zone ( SLIE).

Steve Johnson, director at B8RE, said: “Wigan is a well-established industrial, manufacturing and logistics location and we are delighted to have secured such prestigious training at this location.

“This is the first time we have advised Glenbrook and we are aware that the team have been working diligently behind the scenes to prepare the site to begin development.

“The site offers many alternative development models and we are extremely encouraged by Glenbrook’s flexibility to be able to offer turnkey rental and ownership offers on all unit sizes, along with land sales on the larger lots. We are already working closely with our joint agency partners with some exciting active inquiries.”

Guy Butler, director at Glenbrook, said: “Since the planning has been secured, we have drawn up detailed plans with our design team on the site infrastructure, which ensures a high strength of the site and we are aligning the funding to ensure deliverability.

“We have made significant progress and are working on appointing a contractor over the summer before we start access to the site in the third quarter of this year.”

Meridian 6 is designed by AEW Architects. Gerald Eve is the planning consultant for the project and SGi Consulting Engineers is the civil and structural engineer.
