Jay Slater’s mum issues heartbreaking statement as 19-year-old had ‘his whole life ahead of him’

Jay Slater’s mother has made a heartbreaking statement following the disappearance of her 19-year-old son.

Jay Slater was last seen leaving the whitewashed property known as Casa Abuela Tina at approximately 8am on June 17. He had enjoyed a night at the Papagayo nightclub in Playa de las Americas before leaving with two Britons on his way back to the rented accommodation.




The AirBnB where Jay Slater spent his last known night is more than 20 miles and an 11-hour drive from the Los Cristianos apartment where he had been staying with his friends Lucy Law, 18, and Brad Hargreaves, 19. Jay shared a photo of himself. holding a cigarette in front of the main door of the holiday left early Monday morning.

The Airbnb host later claimed to have seen him walking alone in the mountains on Monday. At 8:30, Jay contacted Lucy to inform her that he was lost trying to find his way home with no water and only 1% battery left on his phone. That was the last anyone heard from him, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Almost two weeks later, Jay’s ground search was called off by the police. Jay’s distraught family, including mother Debbie, father Warren and older brother Zak, remain in Tenerife assisting the police.

They describe the situation as “a mystery”, urging police to “keep her, keep her alive”.
