Hurt and shaken family left ‘unable to sleep’ after horror Exhall crash

Family members have been left “unable to sleep” following a horror crash in Bedworth. The mother and her daughter and granddaughter were all injured in the incident in School Lane.

They spent hours being treated at Coventry and Warwickshire University Hospital after a car allegedly crashed into theirs head-on on Saturday night. The driver’s husband, who did not want to be named, explained that the injuries suffered by his wife, daughter and granddaughter were more serious than first thought.

“There were no minor injuries,” he said. “My daughter has to have surgery on her arm because it broke and she needs pins and plates.

“My niece has huge bruises and so does my wife. He struggles to sleep at night because of it.” He added that the family’s car was “totally destroyed”.

Images taken following the incident on Saturday night show the front of the car caved in. “Our car is totally destroyed, we have loss of earnings and more,” he added.

Warwickshire Police previously confirmed that a 17-year-old boy was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
