Dejphon Chansiri has warned that Danny Rohl could leave Sheffield Wednesday if anything happens

Danny Rohl has become an absolute hero at Sheffield Wednesday in recent months.

The Owls manager steered the club to safety at the end of a troubled season before putting pen to paper on a new contract.

Since then he has already made five new signings, less than three weeks after the transfer window opened.

With Olaf Kobacki and James Beadle set to sign before the end of the week, things are looking extremely positive at Hillsborough.

However, former Sheffield Wednesday man Chris Waddle believes there is still the possibility of Rohl leaving the club due to one factor.

Chris Waddle ‘can’ see Danny Rohl leaving Sheffield Wednesday

Speaking to The Real EFL, Waddle said: “Chansiri, from a great club, Sheffield Wednesday, destroyed it.

“He (Rohl) was great at Sheffield Wednesday. I’m sure he was getting a lot of offers. not just in England. But obviously on Wednesday he took the option. He will give what he has. I think he likes the club and the fans and all that, but if he’s going to mess up, which he probably will with his chairman, I just don’t have time for him.

“I’m sure Rohl will have spoken to other people over the summer, but he probably said, look, I’ve got to stay where I am and we’ll see how it goes. But if Chansiri doesn’t support what Rohl expects and feels he’s hit the nail on the head, then I see him going.

There was certainly a lot of concern when the season ended that Rohl could leave if his demands weren’t met by Dejphon Chansiri.

However, he wouldn’t have signed a new contract if the Thai businessman hadn’t made those promises to him, and already it looks like he’s keeping his word.

The renovation of Middlewood Road is already underway, while Chansiri is clearly ready to stretch his wallet with the transfer business that has already been done.

Rohl could be considering the exit door if Chansiri eventually stops giving him what he needs, but there’s certainly no cause for concern at the start of what has already been a successful summer.
