Live updates as Humberstone Gate in Leicester partially closed due to ‘police incident’

A main street in Leicester city center has been partially closed off by police this morning (Wednesday 3 July). The area around the junction of Humberstone Road and Humberstone Gate is closed.

Police are telling people to stay away from “the area around the Hansom cab and subway”, asking those already nearby to find alternative routes.

The route appears to be closed in both directions between Humberstone Road and Charles Street. However, this has not been officially confirmed.
