Resident burgled in Coventry as man ‘claims he needs a glass of water’

Police have launched an investigation following a burglary in Coventry. It happened on Tile Hill Lane.

A man was said to have asked a resident, who has not been named, if they wanted their gutter cleaned. He then entered the property and asked for a glass of water, South Coventry police said.



At this point, the unknown man stole items from inside the home, South Coventry police said. Officers are now investigating the incident and have urged anyone with information to contact them on 101 or using WMP Live Chat.

A South Coventry Police spokesman said: “If you are unsure about cold callers when they are at your address, call 101 or, in an emergency, 999.”
