Road closures for Earlsdon Festival as Coventry’s biggest street party returns today

The Earlsdon Festival takes place today, with roads closed to ensure the huge event runs safely. Earlsdon Street will be closed all day today (May 6) as it hosts the heart of what is the city’s biggest street festival.

Also, all surrounding roads leading to Earlsdon Street will have resident and disabled access only. The road closures came into effect at 6.30am and will remain in place until 6.30pm this evening.

Thousands of people usually turn up for the event which will see the high street filled with over 60 stalls from food and charity vendors. Also, in a first for the event, there will be children’s rides located near Earlsdon Street near the island.

There will also be sporting activities and events on the playing field at Earlsdon Primary School. Earlsdon Methodist Church and Earlsdon Library will also be home to events.

The event is scheduled to run from 10am to 4pm, seating will be available and there are maps available from volunteers and a few stalls on the day showing exactly where everything is happening.
