Primark’s see-through dress sparks debate as people ask ‘who would wear it’

A new dress available at Primark has sparked a debate among shoppers. As summer arrives and the festival season begins, many are on the hunt for the right outfits.

To inspire music fans, Primark, which has its biggest store in Birmingham, posted a video of a fashion blogger trying on its new Sheer Metallic Maxi Dress. The dress, part of the latest Rita Ora collection, is priced at £22.

In the video, the fashionista, known online as Rhiwanders, teams the dress with black cowboy boots, a brown belt and a beige tassel bag. “Obsessed with @Rhiwanders’ style for her top picks from the Rita Ora festival collection! She’s having a serious main character moment,” Primark captioned the post.

The outfit attracted attention, with hundreds flocking to the comments section to share their thoughts. Apparently people either love it or hate it – just like Marmite.

In the video, Rhiwanders wears a black bralette and matching pants under the see-through dress, which has been a talking point for many. Molly asked, “Why would you want everyone to see your underwear?”

Mared said: “It’s good to wear bikinis when you’re on the beach. But like this? Not”. Cheva added: “I’m sorry but no. Beach wear and boots???? Why?” Kate wrote: “Are you telling me he’s dressed?”

Despite the mixed reactions, Rhiwanders sure looked gorgeous regardless. The dress received its fair share of admirers, with Wiktoria commenting: “Such a great festival outfit!”

Lily agreed, “An absolute slay outfit for a festival.” Nathan chimed in, “Absolutely amazing!” while Niall enthused: ‘Omg! Best outfit I’ve seen! Keep breaking it.”
