Teenager injured in broad daylight robbery on Bradford Street

A 14-year-old boy has been injured in a broad daylight street robbery in Bradford.

According to West Yorkshire Police, two youths approached the victim and demanded his phone in Bertram Road, Manningham, at around 8.10am yesterday.

The victim ignored the men and continued walking.

One of the men then assaulted the victim, kicking him to the floor and stole his phone before leaving on foot.

The victim suffered minor injuries to his hand and knee.

West Yorkshire Police said one of the men is described as being from Eastern Europe, around 5ft 3in, with dark curly hair. He appeared to be around 14 or 15 years old and was wearing a gray hoodie and gray sweatpants.

The second male is described as being from Eastern Europe and about 5ft 5in tall. He appeared to be around 15 or 16 and was wearing a gray hoodie.

A spokesman for the force said: “Officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area yesterday and witnessed the robbery or who may recognize the descriptions of the two men to come forward.

“Local police patrols have been stepped up in the area to provide reassurance.”
