A man was rushed to hospital after being attacked by his dog in Enfield Park

A man has been taken to hospital after being attacked by his dog in a north London park.

Armed police were among officers who attended Albany Park in Enfield Wash at 3pm on Sunday following reports of a dangerous dog.

They ended up finding the dog’s owner, a 30-year-old man, who had been bitten on the arm.

The dog – believed to have been an American bulldog – died in the incident, the Metropolitan Police said.

A spokesman said: “The owner restrained the dog before officers arrived and the dog died at the scene.

“The officers did not use any force on the dog.”

London Ambulance Service said a man was treated for arm injuries and taken to a major trauma center “as a priority”.
