Influencer explains how you can make money by uploading videos on TikTok

A TikTok influencer has told how he made a career out of sharing content online – and exactly how long it took. From vlogging your travels around the world to sharing your opinions from the comfort of your bedroom, social media content creation is an increasingly popular career choice.

However, according to Goldman Sachs, only 4% of creators earn more than $100,000 a year (£79,000), despite predictions the industry will be worth $480 billion by 2027, the Mirror reports .

So how can you start making a career out of it? US influencer ‘Bran Flakes’ has talked about turning his content into a full-time job – and it’s been just over a year.

On his TikTok page @bran__flakezz told his 652,000 followers: “I started posting on TikTok in January 2021. These videos are still up to this day, they have a thousand views now because they were for three and a half years But when I posted them, I was stuck in 200 view jail.

“I think where I messed up in the beginning is I really only used trending sounds, I rarely talked to the camera. Once I started making videos where I was talking to the camera, my s*** started coming out. “

Six months after this, his videos had accumulated between 100,000 and 300,000 views each. In June 2021, Bran amassed 25,000 followers and made his first branded deal, pocketing $100 (£79).

He added: “During this time I was also working a 9-5 job so it was a stressful time trying to make content on top of already commuting to work, working all day and then coming home and making videos … I continued.

“And then November 2021 came around, so now I’m 10 months past the first month I started posting, which was in January. And I got a brand deal from Amazon that paid me over $1,000 — I was freaking out.”
