“When we got relegated in the 22/23 season, I felt personally responsible for the part I played in that. I set out to make sure we got back into the Premier League in the first season because I know how devastating a position it can be for a club if it doesn’t happen.

“I am very proud of what we achieved together last season – creating memories of a lifetime for all of us. But more than that, we hope to right the wrongs of that relegation season.

“The overwhelming number of messages I have received over the last few days has truly touched me and I thank each and every person for taking the time to do this, it means so much to me and my family.

“I want to thank all the teammates I played with, the coaches I worked with and the fans I grew up with.

“I am delighted to leave the club with them in the Premier League, where I belong, and I wish Leicester City all the best for next season and beyond.

“I’m one of yours, Leicester. But it’s time to go now… Thanks for the ride. KDH.”
