Wilfred Ndidi ‘keen’ on Celtic move as ex-Leicester City star offers Hoops

Former Leicester City star Wilfred Ndidi is reportedly keen on a reunion with Brendan Rodgers at Celtic.

The Nigerian is currently a free agent after leaving the King Power Stadium at the end of last season. Ndidi, 27, played his best football during Rodgers’ time at the Foxes and was once valued at £52m. His outstanding performances even attracted the attention of Real Madrid last year, while Manchester United have also been linked in the past.

Now, Celts have the chance to land the midfielder on a free transfer in what would be a major coup for the Scottish champions. While Ndidi will have options on the table to stay in the Premier League, Celts were told last night that Ndidi would be interested in a move to Parkhead, according to the Daily Record.

Although Celtic would not be able to match the staggering wages on offer down south, Ndidi would have the chance to play Champions League football and challenge for silverware in Glasgow. And the former Genk star’s relationship with Rodgers could also be a huge factor in his decision this summer.

Ndidi lifted the FA Cup and Community Shield under Rodgers in 2021 and was a regular under new Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca last season as Leicester City sealed promotion by winning the Championship.
