‘Excellent’ Leeds United signing Daniel Farke has now agreed terms to leave Elland Road

Just days after Archie Gray left Leeds United to join Tottenham, another key player could be set to leave and join a European club with personal terms said to be agreed.

The 18-year-old is Leeds’ second major sale of the summer after Marc Roca completed a deal to join Real Betis for a fee of around £4million. Gray sees Leeds earn a fee said to be in the region of £40m.

But of course a quarter of that was spent on Joe Rodon, with the Welshman returning permanently to Elland Road after his wonderful loan spell at the club last season under manager Daniel Farke.

Gray will not be Leeds’ last sale. A host of players are attracting interest from elsewhere, with Georginio Rutter the subject of a £30m bid from Brighton, who are keen on four Leeds players.

But one player, signed by Farke, is said to have now agreed personal terms with a Ligue 1 side:

The Leeds star has agreed terms with the French side a year after joining

Described as “superb” by Steven Gerrard during his time at Rangers, Glen Kamara has been instrumental in his first season at Elland Road following his £5m move to Leeds in the final days of August.

The Finnish star has been incredibly consistent throughout, rarely going above 8/10 but never dropping in form. He also dealt with various middle partners such as Gray, Ilia Gruev and Ethan Ampadu.

Brighton are said to be interested, being one of four players the Seagulls are interested in. But it is French side Rennes who are pushing for Kamara, with Ouest France claiming personal terms have been agreed.

Rennes’ interest in Kamara is nothing new, related to the past

The report says Kamara is a “priority” for Rennes this summer and that personal terms are met. It would be a blow for Leeds to lose the Arsenal academy product, although it is not clear how much he is being paid.

Rennes have been linked with a move for Kamara in the past while at Rangers. Reports in France in 2022 said that Rennes wanted to take him to the top tier of French football from Rangers before 2023.

So Kamara could leave for Rennes and, while it is a blow, it gives Leeds more money to spend in the coming months before the start of the 2024-25 season as Leeds eye a second promotion.
