Everton and Leicester are showing interest in the midfielder – But the asking price has prevented transfer offers from arriving

Everton and Leicester City have shown interest in Reims midfielder Amir Richardson this summer, but they look unlikely to pay his €10m asking price.

That’s according to L’Equipe, who report that Everton, Leicester and Udinese have shown interest in the 22-year-old midfielder.

They explain that Richardson could leave the French side this summer after managing just 14 starts under Will Still and Samba Diawara last season.

Everton, Leicester and Udinese have shown interest in him, but Reims’ €10m asking price has deterred anyone from making a bid until now, being deemed too high by interested parties.

The said trio have so far shown no willingness to pay such a figure, while Strasbourg have also withdrawn their interest because of it.

There is no word on whether there is room for negotiation, and in the meantime, Richardson is focused on a busy summer where he will compete in the Olympics with Morocco.

Last Wednesday he returned to training with the French team under new coach Luka Elsner, who knows him well after managing him at Le Havre.

It remains to be seen whether his arrival at the club leads to a decision to stay there, but at the moment neither Everton, Leicester nor anyone else have shown a willingness to pay Reims their €10m asking price.
