Arne Slot has now had a ‘personal talk’ with Leeds United’s £30m player, he wants him at Liverpool

In a different world, Arne Slot might well have been the manager at Leeds United, with the club still in the Premier League.

However, after opting to stay at Feyenoord, Slot has since won a big move to Liverpool and is now looking to bring one of Leeds’ biggest stars with him.

Leeds have already seen one of their best players move to one of the Premier League’s top six this summer, with Archie Gray joining Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday.

Gray’s £40m exit has significantly eased Leeds’ profit and sustainability concerns, but it doesn’t necessarily mean the rest of their squad will remain intact.

Brighton saw a bid rejected for Georginio Rutter earlier this week as speculation linking Glen Kamara with Rennes intensified. It’s definitely going to be a tough summer.

Slot holds talks with Crysencio Summerville ahead of Leeds move

Given the level of interest in Leeds players from Europe’s top five leagues, it’s hard to hide the fact that Daniel Farke failed to win us promotion last season.

Leeds have always known that if they don’t return to the Premier League, at least one big sale would be needed and it will be interesting to see how many more are to come.

The 49ers now believe they are in a better position when it comes to negotiating, but from a player’s standpoint, when a club like Liverpool comes calling, it’s hard to say no.

And according to journalist Wiebe de Vries, that’s exactly what Reds boss Slot did with Crysencio Summerville.

Slot is now said to have had a “personal conversation” with the 22-year-old from Leeds and his most likely destination is either Anfield or PSG.

Leeds submitted a £30m asking price for Summerville this summer and so it remains to be seen whether Liverpool have the money to do so.

Fabrizio Romano shares an update on PSG’s interest

While de Vries suggested it is now a toss-up between PSG and Liverpool, Fabrizio Romano claimed this morning that the race is more “open”.

In fact, Romano has somewhat shut down news of PSG’s interest, suggesting he has only briefly come into talks as they are actually trying to sign Feyenoord’s Lutsharel Geetruida, with the Dutch duo sharing the same agent.

He wrote: “I understand the situation is: Summerville has the same agents as Feyenoord defender Lutsharel Geertruida.

“PSG are in talks with Geertruida on personal terms, so Summerville was mentioned during the talks, but there is still no negotiation between the clubs or the player’s agents. It’s an open race with Brighton and several clubs interested.”
