Liverpool could receive around £190m in prize money this summer for Arne Slot to spend

Liverpool’s last campaign under Jurgen Klopp did not go to plan. The Reds’ season looked very promising until they crashed out of the Premier League title race as well as the UEFA Europa League.

However, at least Klopp managed to lift the Carabao Cup in his last spell as Liverpool boss. And it’s also worth noting that the club are set to win a large share of the prize money for their efforts in the Premier League and European competition.

As Liverpool secure a commendable third place, their sights are already set on claiming the throne next season under Arne Slot.

The summer transfer window takes on paramount importance, bolstered by the prospect of winning bigger prizes. Last season’s £161.2m for a fifth-placed finish pales in comparison to anticipated earnings of more than £190m this time around, including around £27m from their exploits in Europe League, according to the Liverpool Echo.

With such a financial boost, Liverpool’s ambitions for dominance are set for a robust revival under Premier League debutant Arne Slot.

Will Arne Slott’s Liverpool team look anything like Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool team?

As Klopp refined Liverpool’s 4-3-3 formation from previous seasons, Alexander-Arnold’s role changed, often moving inside, similar to Slot’s converted attacking midfielders at Feyenoord.

Previously, the likes of Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum spearheaded the penetrating runs inside the channel, reflecting the tactical fluidity of the Slot system.

In Klopp’s new tactical set-up, attacking moves are echoed in a similar fashion, with Alexander-Arnold taking on a dual pivot role while in possession. While player profiles may vary between the Klopp and Slot eras, the attacking structure, particularly the 3-4-2-1, may remain consistent.

Should Slot incorporate these tactics at Liverpool, the squad’s familiarity with such demands could facilitate a smooth transition, promising an intriguing evolution of Liverpool’s style of play under a new head coach.

The only lingering question mark is: Will Arne Slot have the likes of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk to depend on? The two have 12 months left on their contract. If the pair refuse to sign new contracts, the club could be forced to sell them this summer.
