Road closures for the Allesley Festival carnival procession this weekend

The 49th annual Allesley Festival is underway in the village with lots of fun-filled activities for the community to enjoy. Each year, residents host many events, from open mic nights, cricket matches, quiz nights, carnival parades and the annual scarecrow competition.

This weekend, on Saturday 6th July, the village will host its annual carnival procession with colorful floats on this year’s theme, ‘World of Sport’. The theme will mark the best sports, iconic athletes and sports stars throughout time.




The procession is scheduled to depart at 11.30am from the Jaguar Sports and Social Club and roads will be closed as the procession begins. Below, we’ve outlined which diversions and road closures will be in place so drivers are aware.

Here is the Allesley Carnival procession schedule:

  • 11:30 – Floating assembly
  • 12:00 – The judging takes place
  • 12:30 – Departure of the carnival

  • Fenton Road
  • Browns Lane
  • Windmill Hill
  • Birmingham Road
  • Lions Field Ave
  • Barnfield Avenue
  • Durham Crescent
  • Antrim Close (for Allesley Primary School fete opening)

Here are the roads that will be closed:

The procession will leave Browns Lane at 12.30pm. The main procession route is Browns Lane, Windmill Hill, Birmingham Road, Lion Fields Avenue, Barnfield Avenue and Durham Crescent, arriving at Antrim Close at around 2pm.
