Police have given more time to question the murder suspect

The police had more time to question a woman arrested on suspicion of murder.

Emergency services were called to an address in Strawberry Fields, Easterton, near Devizes, shortly after 8pm BST on Tuesday after reports of a stabbing.

A man, aged in his 40s, died at the scene, Wiltshire Police said.

The woman, who is in her 50s and is believed to be known to the victim, was arrested by police a short time later and officers have now been granted a 36-hour remand.

The force said a cordon remains in place at the property as they continue to investigate. There is no wider risk to the public.

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact police.
