The schoolgirls beat Sheffield to win the Yorkshire Cup final

BARNSLEY Schoolgirls under 12s won the Yorkshire Federation Cup with a 2-1 win over Sheffield.

They bounced back from losing the national final the previous week despite being 1-0 down at half-time in the second final.

Harlow Sylvester-Bedford equalized before Lily Clarke secured a 2-1 win.

Manager Jon Bedford said: “The girls had a fantastic season, finishing as runners-up in the league and in the national final.

“We got what we deserved in this final and we did better.

“We couldn’t be happier for the girls.

“They were an absolute pleasure

to train and we’re so happy they ended the season with some well-deserved silverware.”
