Aston Villa transfer news live Brajan Gruda interest, Matty Cash update, Jaden Philogene twist

Former Aston Villa striker Alan McInally doesn’t think Conor Gallagher would be a good signing this summer.

Unai Emery is believed to be a big fan of the Chelsea midfielder, who is priced at £50million this summer. Gallagher has 12 months left on his current deal but could be reluctant to move to the Midlands this summer.

Villa have already dealt with Chelsea twice this summer, buying Ian Maatsen for £37.5m and selling Omari Kellyman for £19m. Villa have also given Chelsea permission to speak to Jhon Duran after broadly agreeing a deal worth around £40million, but the move appears to have stalled.

“No no. I don’t think he’s good enough to play for Aston Villa,” McInally told Gambling.com. “He’s a good player, he’s done well, but I can’t understand how he got into the England team and how he’s playing. in front of other players.

Again, this is Gareth Southgate’s choice. He has to put up with it. I don’t see Conor Gallagher making Aston Villa any better.

“I want players to come to my football club who are exceptionally better than Conor Gallagher and that’s how I feel.

“He’s a good player, he’s done very well for himself, but I don’t see him as an Aston Villa player. I don’t know how much he’s going to cost, but at the same time, I don’t see it right.”

Villa have signed five players so far this summer and sold another three. Douglas Luiz has joined Juventus for £42m, following the sales of Tim Iroegbunam to Everton for up to £13m and Kellyman to Chelsea for £19m.

Lewis Dobbin was the first to sign for £9m from Everton, before Enzo Barrenechea (£6.8m), Samuel Iling-Junior (£11.8m) and Ross Barkley (5 million pounds) to follow Maatsen out the door.
