General Election 2024 — RESULTS for Cornwall

As the country goes to the polls to put its X in the box, the political landscape in the Duchy appears to be moving away from the crushing Conservative result in 2019.

Across the county, various seats are expected to be hard to call, including the hotly contested seat of St Ives. Liberal Democrat candidate Andrew George polls close to Conservative Derek Thomas, who has held the seat since 2015.

A surprise visit by Ed Davey to the county this week is boosting the Liberal Democrats’ confidence in North Cornwall candidate Ben Maguire to win the seat from Tory Scott Mann.

And in south-east Cornwall, the poll suggests a close result between the Tories and Labour, with Sheryll Murray seeking a fifth term in office ahead of Labor hopeful Anna Gelderd.

The seat vacated by George Eustice in Camborne and Redruth is also predicted to be a Labor win. But only the results will tell the true picture.

Keep up to date with events as they unfold from the three Cornish counts of Carn Brea, Bodmin and Truro. Join us live on the Cornish Times live stream after the polls close at 10pm.
