Sheffield Wednesday complete deal for Premier League man, seventh ‘imminent’ summer signing

Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed their seventh signing of the summer transfer window.

Sheffield Wednesday continued their impressive summer transfer run with a seventh signing now imminent.

Danny Rohl got his sixth summer signing over the line on Wednesday, with Olaf Kobacki joining from Polish side Arka on a four-year deal.

So far this summer, Ben Hamer, Max Lowe, Svante Ingelsson and Jamal Lowe have all joined on free transfers, while Kobacki and Yan Valery have been signed on transfer fees.

There are rumors of more signings on the way at Hillsborough, with released Manchester United striker Charlie McNeill expected to sign for Sheffield Wednesday in the near future.

Now, however, Rohl has completed a return for one of last season’s loan players, which should be a massive boost for the German manager and his side’s chances in the 2024/25 Championship campaign.

Sheffield Wednesday confirm the return of James Beadle

Sheffield Wednesday wanted Brighton loanee James Beadle to return to S6 following his impressive spell in the second half of the 2023/24 campaign.

Now the club have confirmed that Beadle has returned on a season-long loan, which should be a huge boost for both club and player.

Last season, Beadle replaced Cameron Dawson in the Sheffield Wednesday starting XI, going on to keep eight clean sheets in 19 Championship outings as the Owls finished an impressive 20th.

James Beadle’s loan return proves one thing at Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday, especially last summer, are not having much luck in the loan market.

But Beadle’s January loan in particular, and now his return, shows that Sheffield Wednesday under Rohl is an attractive place for Premier League clubs to send their younger players.

Brentford man Myles Peart-Harris is also being linked with Sheffield Wednesday, with a move more likely to be linked as the summer transfer window continues.

So for Sheffield Wednesday, after some really tough years, with summer transfers often being very disappointing, the club has certainly turned a corner this summer.

Owner Dejphon Chansiri wins praise for his ambition this summer and Rohl also earns plaudits for instilling a new mentality and future for the club.

Things are definitely improving and for Beadle, the chance to play regular Championship football next season will be great for his development.
