Property development has been given the go-ahead for 290 new homes in Keresley

HOUSING development company Vistry Group has been given the go-ahead to build 290 new homes in Keresley, north of Coventry.

This development is part of a significant investment which includes more than £7.8m allocated to improve local services.

Vistry acquired two plots of land in Keresley in September 2023, with plans to build a total of 550 family homes on the sites.

The approval covers the first phase, which will deliver 290 mixed-use homes, enriching the area with a variety of high-quality family residences.

Adam Sharpe, managing director for Vistry South West Midlands, said: “We are delighted to have secured planning permission for this phase of development in Keresley, which promises to help meet the demand for housing in the area.

“There is a significant need for new, high quality, multi-tenure homes in this area and this is a major step forward in meeting that demand.

“We know buyers from all walks of life will relish the opportunity to live in modern family homes and be part of a vibrant and well-connected new community.”

Beyond addressing housing needs, the Vistry development includes a substantial commitment to the local community.

The company will invest £7,841,746 in local services, benefiting education, healthcare, highways, biodiversity offsets and parks.

At least 25% of new homes will be affordable, ensuring a diverse and inclusive community.

Construction of the 290 homes is expected to begin later this summer, marking a significant step in Vistry’s mission to provide sustainable and affordable housing solutions.

It is anticipated that this development will not only provide much needed housing but also improve the overall infrastructure and services in Keresley.
