Joe Rodon finally breaks his silence after singing for Leeds United, responds Ethan Ampadu

Joe Rodon has posted a message on Instagram to Leeds United supporters for the first time since his return to the club.

Rodon completed his move back to Elland Road on Tuesday morning as part of the deal that took Archie Gray in the opposite direction to Tottenham Hotspur.

Despite the pain surrounding Gray’s exit, Rodon’s return has been a real relief for Leeds after such a good season on loan from Spurs in 2023/24.

Leeds’ squad returned to Thorp Arch for pre-season trials on the same day Rodon’s signing was announced, but the Welshman has yet to join up with the rest of his team-mates.

Rodon has been away on an individual training camp in Las Vegas, but you can imagine Daniel Farke will be keen for him to start his pre-season at Leeds as soon as possible.

Ampadu reacts in three words to the return of Rodon

Rodon was Leeds’ main target in the early weeks of the summer and once it became clear he would be used in the Gray deal, there was only one winner.

Leeds beat off Premier League competition from Ipswich Town, Leicester City and Brentford to sign him, with a return to Elland Road always his priority.

Given the interest from elsewhere, it’s a real statement of intent by Leeds to have managed to bring him back, and writing on Instagram on Thursday night, Rodon finally broke his silence.

Rodon’s message to supporters echoed reports that have emerged in the media in recent weeks that he has found a home at Leeds.

He said: “So happy to be back at this great club! I’ve always felt so at home here and I’m looking forward to a big season!”

Ethan Ampadu is among those at Leeds who have given their reaction to Rodon’s return and it would be fair to say he is happy to be reunited with his Wales team-mate.

Connor Roberts could follow Rodon to Leeds

Former loanee Connor Roberts was among the players to react to Rodon’s return earlier this week under Leeds’ official announcement on Instagram.

Leeds are also interested in bringing Roberts back, with Rodon’s brother Sam reportedly suggesting the 28-year-old could be next.

Roberts has returned to Burnley after his loan at Leeds ended, but it remains to be seen what they intend to do with him after signing a new right-back and still without a manager.

But Rodon’s brother sent him a three-word message to give Leeds fans hope that he will rejoin the club. He wrote: “You next Robs.”
