Cradley Heath’s derelict pub could be given a new lease of life – find out why

As part of the new plans, presented by Akher Shafia, the now derelict Old Furnace, in Waterfall Lane, Cradley Heath, next to Sandwell Council’s licensing centre, will be converted into two shops with a single entrance.

In the planning statement, Mr Shafia said they had plans to develop the inside of the former pub into “two storefronts with a door in the middle”, however there were no proposals to “change the exterior of the building”.

The planning application said: “Conversion of the ground floor of the retail unit and we intend to change the frontage to two windowless shop windows with a door in the middle.

According to the new proposed plans, the former Old Oven will be transformed into two stores
