Luton Town, Birmingham City target Spurs starlet Jamie Donley

Luton Town and Birmingham City are tracking Tottenham Hotspur prospect Jamie Donley, according to Football London.

Luton Town and Birmingham City are the latest two sides said to be targeting a deal for attacking prospect Donley, who played for Spurs’ U21s last season.

Playing in a range of attacking roles, the 19-year-old talent managed eight goals and 17 assists in all competitions. He made his first-team bow for Ange Postecoglou’s side and enjoyed prolific form for England’s Young Lions as well.

Championship new boys Oxford United have been linked with Donley recently, but they have competition.

Football London say Luton Town are “extremely keen” to bring the Spurs prospect on board. Ambitious relegated side Birmingham City, who are managed by former Tottenham manager Chris Davies, are also admirers of Donley.

Still, the EFL looks a likely destination for the emerging prospect, and amid growing interest in his services, it may not be long before Donley’s move comes to fruition.

Who is this?

THE QUIZ STARTS!

A decision to make

It looks like Donley will move on loan this summer.

Spurs appear keen to give him a shot at senior football after a stellar campaign at youth level. As a temporary move appeals, any of Luton Town, Birmingham City or Oxford United could be great destinations.

A move to the Hatters would see Donley work under a highly-rated coach in Rob Edwards while likely fighting for promotion with a strong Championship side. Meanwhile, Oxford United are more than likely to be fighting for survival, but this experience could still be valuable.

Birmingham City could have a great chance though. There is already a relationship there with former assistant boss Chris Davies at the helm and their ambition could see them land some top players this summer.

Spurs and Donley will decide on his move, with some top options available.

What Donley offers

Donley’s youth career with Spurs proved him to be a prolific, creative and versatile striker.

He can play in a number of central roles, whether as an attacking midfielder or a striker. He is also comfortable in a partnership at the top of the pitch, with his impressive technical ability allowing him to play fantastic link-up with his team-mates.

At 19, he looks primed and ready to hit the ground running and find a new level on an EFL loan.

Time will tell exactly where they head, however, with Luton Town, Birmingham City and Oxford United all keen.
