Rowland buys seven-acre Wigan site with eye on 90 homes

Official plans are likely to be submitted for the site off Windsor Road in Ashton-in-Makerfield later this summer.

The builder has completed the purchase of the land from the Jockey Club. Savills advised the Jockey Club on the sale of the land.

Outline planning permission for residential development is already in place for the 6.7 acre site, with Rowland Homes busy preparing a reserved issue planning application for around 90 homes.

The app is expected to be ready in August, with the developer hoping to be on site next year.

If approved, the scheme would result in the development of three and four-bed homes, from semi-detached and detached properties to townhouses.

Windsor Road is located in Ashton-in-Makerfield town center with access to junction 23 of the M6 ​​just over a mile away and within 32 miles of Manchester and Liverpool.
