Leeds Bradford Airport flight disruption after runway closed

Flights have been severely disrupted at Leeds Bradford Airport after its runway was closed for emergency repairs.

It meant planes could not take off or land at the airport on Friday afternoon.

Writing on X, Leeds Bradford Airport said the runway is expected to remain closed until at least 7pm BST, while check-in will be closed until 5pm.

She added that her teams were “working tirelessly” to carry out repairs and advised tourists to contact their airlines for additional travel advice.
