Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 specifications leak ahead of launch

Adding to its portfolio inspired by the Sherpa 450, Royal Enfield introduced the Guerrilla 450 as a sporty Roadster in the single-cylinder performance motorcycle segment. It should ride on a Himalayan 450 chassis, at least as far as its main frame is concerned, and have the same Sherpa 450 engine under all that skin, but in a lower tuning state to keep the weight down.

Unlike the Himalayan 450, it won’t have big touring or off-road hardware and will therefore be more compact in size and weight, primarily because it’s marketed as a Roadster. From leaks, we know that the Guerrilla 450 will be smaller and lighter than its adventure counterpart. The Guerrilla 450 is said to be 2,134mm long, just 834mm wide and just 1,115mm tall. That’s 111mm less in length, with 18mm of width shrinking and a total difference of a few huge numbers; as much as the G320 over the Himalayan 450!

In the images presented, the Guerrilla 450 will tip the scales at around 183kg, which is slightly higher compared to what was forecast but still considered strong compared to its nemesis – the Honda CB300R which weighs only around 146kg. But it’s 13kg less than the Himalayan 450 (leaks suggest it weighs around 196kg).

In terms of engine specifications, Royal Enfield has tuned the engine of the Guerrilla 450 to create a distinct character. The leaked specifications reveal a peak power of 39.52 bhp at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 40 Nm at 5,500 rpm, similar to the Himalayan 450.

One of the more interesting revelations of the leak is the Guerrilla 450’s tire size. While competitors typically offer 110-section front tires and 150-section rear tires or smaller, the leak suggests that the Guerrilla 450 will have a 120-section front tire of sections and a 160-section rear tire, similar to high-end models such as Benelli. Leoncino 500 and Kawasaki Z650.

Spy shots from the TVC footage reveal that the base model Guerrilla 450 will have a semi-analogue instrument cluster from the Meteor range, with an optional Tripper Screen accessory. The top model is expected to include the Tripper Dash from the Himalayan 450. Price estimates place the base model in a competitive fashion, likely around INR 2.3 lakh (ex-showroom).
