Coventry primary school plans to build extensions for children who need extra help

A Coventry school has applied to build an extension. Longford Park Primary School wants to knock down a garage and build an infill extension on its south-west corner.

The building would have one floor and would be used by children who need extra help with learning. It will match the layout of the existing school on Windmill Road, a planning statement said.

The development would provide a “necessary amenity for local children”, he added. The block will be set back from the border with people’s homes and would not have a negative impact on neighbors, the statement said.

The plans were submitted by Coventry council earlier this year. Officers at the council are yet to make a decision on the scheme. The plans can be viewed online under reference PL/2024/0000414/FUL.
