Knife-wielding woman filmed by neighbor in Knighton, Leicester, threatens to stab man

A woman has admitted owning a knife after she was filmed by a neighbor threatening to stab a man in Knighton. A resident of Bowood Court in Knighton Lane, Leicester, heard Judge Francis, 27, who also lived in the building, arguing with a man and saw her wielding a knife, which she they filmed.

They called Leicestershire Police, who arrived and searched Francis, who did not appear to be armed. But they found a large kitchen knife in her home that matched one in the neighbor’s video. At Leicester Magistrates’ Court Francis, 27, pleaded guilty to possessing a knife in public.

The court heard the incident happened on Wednesday, February 28 at around 6pm. Prosecutor Ravinder Daroch said: “Police received a call from a witness to report that they could see the defendant and a man arguing outside Bowood Court in the yard.

“The defendant had a knife in his hand and was threatening to stab the man. When police searched the defendant’s residence a large kitchen knife was found, one that matched the one in the movie.”

She said the man Francis was threatening did not make a statement to police.

Jagvir Sangherra, representing Francis, said his client suffers from schizophrenic affective disorder and would benefit from a pre-sentence report from the probation service. The magistrates agreed.

The case was adjourned so Francis could meet with the probation service and prepare a report for magistrates before sentencing Francis.
