Liverpool LIVE transfer news after £55m deal for Teun Koopmeiners as failed move revealed

Reports in Italy suggest the Reds are in pole position to sign Teun Koopmeiners. The proposed deal comes as a shock after it was reported that Juventus had agreed a deal with their Serie A rivals over a move for the 26-year-old.

It has been claimed that Liverpool have moved to the front of the queue as Gian Piero Gasperini’s side put Juventus’ move on hold as they try to avoid offloading their prized possession to their Italian rivals.

Also in the news is a claim from the agent of an Italian goalkeeper. AC Monza stopper Michele Di Gregorio has just signed for the Turin club, but his agent has “revealed” that the Reds have been in talks over a move for the 26-year-old ahead of his move to Serie A.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will not sell star striker Mohamed Salah, according to reports. The Egyptian has 12 months left on his contract, but unless he can agree a new deal, it has been reported that he will not be sold by the Reds.

Clubs in Saudi Arabia have had strong interest in the 32-year-old, including an approach that was rejected last summer, but the club are looking at the prospect of persuading the former Chelsea striker to stay.

Liverpool will prepare for the return of Diogo Jota after Portugal were knocked out of Euro 2024 by France on penalties. The Reds forward was an unused substitute as Joao Felix’s penalty miss proved costly against Les Bleus, with his Liverpool team-mate Ibrahima Konate also on the bench.
