Full results of the 2024 Clapham and Brixton Hill general election

Labour’s Bell Ribeiro-Addy has been elected MP for Clapham and Brixton Hill. Ribeiro-Addy, 39, won with 24,166 votes.

Ben Curtis, the Liberal Democrat candidate, finished second with 6,161 votes. Green Party candidate Shâo-Lan Yuen was third with 5,768 votes. Conservative Party candidate Asha Saroy finished fourth with 4,360 votes.

Ribeiro-Addy was the Labor MP for the now-defunct Streatham constituency until Parliament was dissolved at the end of May. She was first elected in the 2019 election, when she won 54.8% of the vote.

The new seat of Clapham and Brixton Hill is made up of parts of the former Streatham and Vauxhall constituencies. It covers Brixton Hill, most of Clapham, Stockwell and Tulse Hill. Ribeiro-Addy’s victory was announced in the early hours of Friday (July 5) at The Lambeth Civic Center in Brixton, south London.

Sir Keir Starmer said the UK was once again facing the “sunshine of hope” after a Labor landslide put him on course to become the next prime minister. Conservative leader Rishi Sunak conceded defeat after a “distressing” night for his party in which a record eight Cabinet ministers lost their seats.

At a victory rally in central London, Sir Keir said the country could “reclaim its future”. He told jubilant activists “we did it”, adding: “Change starts now.”
