Islington South and Finsbury 2024 general election results

Labor held the Islington South and Finsbury constituency in the 2024 general election. Elected candidate Emily Thornberry won with a majority of 15,455 votes.

Ms Thornberry received 22,946 votes in the poll, ahead of Green Party candidate Carne Ross, in second place, who received 7,491 votes.




Residents of Islington South and Finsbury went to the polls on Thursday 4th July to choose the candidate to serve as their MP in the next Parliament.

Counting of votes for the general election began after the polls closed at 10pm on Thursday night and the Islington South and Finsbury result was published by the Press Association at 02.14am on Friday.

A total of 74,122 people were eligible to vote in Islington South and Finsbury, and of these 42,754 decided to complete a ballot, which meant that the turnout in the constituency was 57.7%.

Turnout in Islington South and Finsbury has fallen compared to the last general election in 2019, when 68.7% of the electorate used their vote.
