The Reds’ fanbase is renowned for its passion and loyalty, cheering on both the men’s and women’s teams, whether on Merseyside or watching from afar.

Our We love you Liverpool The feature aims to bring supporters closer together to learn more about each other, wherever they are across the globe.

Whether in Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland, in Merseyside itself, in North or South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia or elsewhere, the fans provide the very foundations on which the club is built.

Here we meet OLSC Slovenia…

Tell us about OLSC…

Our story began in 2005. We created an online forum and a website. We have been gathering there for a long time and then with the advent of Facebook we started a group there as well. Later some of us started watching the matches in person together and in April 2013 we decided it was time to make it official. We had our founding session in Maribor and are proud to say we have over 600 members from all over Slovenia and even some genuine Scousers living in Slovenia now.

How special is it to have the supporters club where you are?

It is very special. Liverpool FC is getting more and more popular here and we are getting new members every day. It’s good to provide a space for fans from all over the country to hang out together and also connect with supporters from our neighboring countries and the ex-Yugoslav countries that we shared a country with.

It must give you a sense of community and connection to Liverpool…

Absolute. For us, football is more than a game, it’s about bringing our members together with connections that go deeper than just supporting LFC.

What is so special about supporting Liverpool for your members?

It certainly has a lot to do with the club itself, its incredible history and the foundation of the club. It’s something many of us can relate to. And it’s also the fact that for us it’s more than football.

Do you host play dates or special events throughout the year?

We usually watch the matches in a sports bar in Ljubljana, mostly with the locals. There are always more of us at derby games like Manchester United and other big games like any final. We also organize special events. Our members in Maribor usually organize a meeting on Boxing Day and every year we also have an end of season picnic. In September 2023 we also organized a regional meeting for OLSC from former Yugoslavia and had some visitors from Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Hungary and Italy.

Has OLSC ever visited Anfield?

We are lucky enough to be able to send our members to Anfield every season. Last season we sent over 50 men to Anfield for the first time and we hope to be able to send more next season. The experience is always superb. Everyone loves the city, the stadium, the club and just the general atmosphere.

What is your favorite memory together as OLSC?

Definitely our regional meet last year. It was a three day event with a total of over 300 people gathered, with concerts, a soccer tournament, games, watching the LFC game and hanging out with our friends from other OLSCs is always a blast.

Finally, if anyone else is interested in joining the OLSC, how would they go about it?

They can do this by filling out a form on our website. It’s a simple process and with just a few clicks and confirmations you become an official supporter of the Slovenian OLSC.
