Journalist suggests 25-year-old Spurs target may be sold early in window – The Spurs Web

Ben Jacobs has said Leicester City will have to sell a few players before the end of June due to their PSR issues, with Tottenham targeting Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall potentially on the pitch.

Dewsbury-Hall was one of the best players in the Championship and played a key role in helping Leicester secure promotion, bagging 12 goals and 14 assists in 44 league games (Transfermarkt).

TalkSPORT reported last month that the Foxes need to sell some assets this summer to offset their losses, with an exit from the King Power Stadium on the cards for the midfielder this summer.

The report claimed that Tottenham are sniffing around the 25-year-old but face competition from Brighton, who have retained their interest in the player after their failed January move for him.

This was backed up a few weeks ago by Football Insider, who said the Foxes value the midfielder at around £30million.

Leicester could be forced to sell Dewsbury-Hall

Asked about the continued speculation over Dewsbury-Hall, Jacobs now told GiveMeSport: “I don’t think the Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall links have overshadowed Leicester’s promotion. It is a fantastic achievement.

“And it was important for Leicester to come the first time they asked, but we know now that they come under the Premier League’s jurisdiction and could be in a difficult financial position.

“So Leicester will have to sell despite going into the Premier League and they may have to sell relatively quickly.

“And here Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – a pure profit player as he is known – is perhaps someone the club feel at the right number to sacrifice, although the player has said publicly that he has no intention of leaving. “

Spurs Web Opinion

We will see a lot of business done quite early in the transfer window as several Premier League teams need to raise funds before the end of June to avoid sanctions. Tottenham are well placed to take advantage and could look to push through some cut-price deals.
