A 100m sprinter, a make-up artist with a huge social media following and the return of Rebekah Vardy…meet some of the Premier League’s new WAGs after Leicester and Ipswich are promoted from the Championship

Leicester City and Ipswich Town will both be playing Premier League football next season following their automatic promotion from the Championship.

The Foxes won the title by a point from Ipswich, while they will be joined by whoever wins in the play-offs from Leeds United, Southampton, West Brom and Norwich City.

The Leicester and Ipswich players will be supported by their partners and families as they take on the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal next season.

There will be some notable faces in the stands including Jamie Vardy’s wife Rebekah as well as some new faces.

Mail Sport takes a look at some of the WAGs who will be supporting their football partners in the Premier League next season.

Rebekah Vardy – wife of Jamie Vardy (Leicester)

Perhaps one of the most famous female partners in English football, largely due to her involvement in the 2022 Wagatha Christie scandal.

Coleen Rooney’s allegations that the Leicester City star’s wife Jamie leaked posts from her private Instagram account to The Sun and the line ‘It’s Rebekah Vardy’s account – sparked a media firestorm between the pair.

Vardy sued Rooney for defamation, and the case stalled in May 2022 when the court dismissed his claim, insisting that the statements made by Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney’s wife were largely true.

He was left with a £3m court fee, but in December said he no longer cared about the trial and “knew the truth”.

Vardy wrote: “I certainly did not expect what became known as the ‘Wagatha Christie’ trial.” If you care, you will know the details. If you don’t, I spare you: thinking about it is a total waste of time and energy. All I will say is that I know the truth, as do many others.

Rebekah has five children, three of whom are fathered by Jamie, another child from a previous relationship.

Former Premier League title winner Jamie is now 37 years old and is nearing the end of his football career.

However, he is still ruthless in front of goal and has scored 20 goals in all competitions — including 18 in the Championship — as he prepares to climb into the top flight once more.

Before Leicester’s relegation last season, he had scored 136 goals in 307 games – putting him 15th on the Premier League’s all-time top scorers list.

Suwilanji Mpondela – wife of Patson Daka (Leicester)

Another Foxes striker returning to the Premier League is Patson Daka, who is married to Zambian sprinter Suwilanji Mpondela.

They are one of Zambia’s most famous celebrity couples, with Daka set to make a comeback in English football and Mpondela a 100m sprinter.

She competed at the 2018 U20 World Championships and in 2021, along with her 4x100m relay teammates, set a new national record with a time of 43.85 seconds.

In 2019, she was voted in as the inaugural President of the National Olympic Committee of Zambia – becoming the youngest President of the African Athletes’ Commission at the age of 19.

The couple married in Dubai in November 2022.

Olivia Choudhury – wife of Hamza Choudhury (Leicester)

Midfielder Hamza Choudhury married his interior designer wife Olivia in 2022 and the couple have one child together.

Former Leicester star and current Tottenham star James Maddison was among the guests at their wedding.

Little is known about Olivia’s personal life, but she shares a glimpse of her life with over 3,000 followers on social media platform Instagram.

She was in attendance as Leicester celebrated their return to the Premier League at the weekend.

Along with a post of the family celebrating together, she captioned it: “Alhamdillah it was amazing.”

Laurel Sheppard – girlfriend of James Justin (Leicester)

Leicester City defender James Justin is in a relationship with Laurel Sheppard and the pair had their first child, Remi Blake Justin, together in April 2023.

She mostly shares selfies and pictures of James or their daughter together on social media platform Instagram.

The pair were spotted together during Leicester’s celebrations at the King Power Stadium at the weekend, where she posted a series of photos of the couple and their one-year-old child with the caption: ‘Best memories, we are so proud. by you.’

Sofie Rosenkilde – girlfriend of Mads Hermansen (Leicester)

In Mads Hermansen, Leicester have found the right replacement for Kasper Schmeichel and, unlike many of his colleagues, next season will be his first venture into the Premier League.

Speaking to CBS Sports, Hermansen said his absorption in other sports has helped him in his goaltending role.

One of these is ice hockey – a sport in which his girlfriend Sofie Rosenkilde competed.

He said ice hockey has improved his blocking, positioning and using one-on-one defensemen to monitor the goaltender.

Rosenkilde regularly shares updates from her life on Instagram with her more than 4,000 followers.

She recently supported him at the EFL Awards where he was named in the Championship Team of the Season.

In a message on Instagram, she wrote that she was “beyond proud” of the 23-year-old Danish goalkeeper.

Chanel Streete – wife of Sam Morsy (Ipswich)

Ipswich captain Sam Morsy’s wife Chanel Streete is a make-up artist with over 48,000 followers on Instagram.

She regularly posts makeup tutorials on the social media platform while showing off the latest products.

Egyptian international Morsy and Chanel share a six-year-old daughter, Sienna, and have been together for 13 years.

After Ipswich celebrated their promotion, Street wrote on Instagram: ‘“I could not be more proud of my husband in achieving today, 13 years I have seen you work tirelessly, stay humble, driven and disciplined to achieve what you have today.

“While being the most supportive partner and incredible father and role model. Sharing this journey with you and watching you grow and achieve your biggest goal was the best feeling in the world.

“I’ve always thought you were capable of anything and I’ve never seen anyone worth so much. We are at our destination, but the journey has been one to remember. I love you, captain.

Shelley Luongo – wife of Massimo Luongo (Ipswich)

Australian international Massimo Luongo is married to wife Shelley and they will celebrate their nine year anniversary this year.

They have two children together, Maxwell and Annie, and the Ipswich star regularly posts pictures of outings with his family.

Earlier this year, Shelley celebrated her 30th birthday, with Massimo posting a video tribute to his wife.

He said: “Happy 30th birthday to the Queen. You they are so loved Shelley. Keep smiling, keep dancing. Keep being you!

She is quiet on social media, but runs a baby and children’s clothing store, which she advertises on Instagram.

Charlotte Moore – wife of Kieffer Moore (Ipswich)

One player who is technically already a Premier League player is Kieffer Moore, who spent the season on loan at Ipswich from top-flight side Bournemouth.

It is unclear whether Moore will return to Ipswich this summer, although his wife Charlotte is one of the more famous WAGS from the players in the squad that was promoted.

Charlotte and Kieffer have been together for over a decade and tied the knot in Rome last year after he popped the question in Dubai.

She is a model and content creator with over 14,000 followers on Instagram and regularly posts glamorous photos of herself on social media.

Her official website says she has worked with brands such as Karen Millen, Ted Baker and Nadine Merabi and started modeling at the age of 17.

The couple two weeks ago announced that they are expecting a child in October this year.
