England v Switzerland LIVE: Euro 2024 updates from Manchester’s AO Arena as fans cheer on Three Lions

Excitement is building as Gareth Southgate’s England side is preparing to take on Switzerland in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024 in just a matter of hours.

England fans are flooding into Manchester’s AO Arena, along with a host of other fan zones and pubs showing the match in the city center, as the team will face Switzerland at 5pm for a place in the semi-finals. The last time Switzerland beat the Three Lions was back in 1981 – failing on the last 13 occasions to win matches against the England team.

But Switzerland has seen success in this Euro tournament, sending Italy home with a 2-0 win in the last 16. Switzerland also came just seconds away from a win over host-country Germany, leading 1-0 until a last-minute equalizer from Germany in the closing moments of the game.

England had been one of the favorites heading into the tournament, but the team’s performance since has not matched the hype. Southgate’s men looked shaky against Slovakia in the last 16, ending in a 2-1 victory after a searing bicycle kick goal from Jude Bellingham and a goal to clinch the win from Harry Kane in the final minutes of play.

It’s all to play for, and we’ll be bringing you every second of action here.
