A Wiltshire woman is appearing in court accused of murdering her ex-partner

A woman has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with murdering her ex-partner in Wiltshire.

Swindon Magistrates’ Court heard that Helen Shakespeare, 53, allegedly stabbed Raymond Groves, who was 48 and from Hartcliffe in Bristol, at her home in Easterton, near Devizes, on Tuesday.

She is also charged with unnamed others with conspiracy to commit murder and is due back in court next week.

A 30-year-old man was also arrested on Thursday on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident. A 20-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. She was further arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

Both remain in custody for questioning.
