Slot at Liverpool is a done deal, says Fabrizio Romano

Liverpool’s move to hire Arne Slot from Feyenoord to be their next manager is a done deal, according to Fabrizio Romano, although it is not yet clear when the Reds will confirm this with an official announcement.

Speaking exclusively to Caught offside for his Daily Briefing column, Romano made it clear that there is no need for Liverpool fans to worry as Slot’s appointment is still a done deal, all agreed.

Liverpool face a difficult time ahead as it will not be easy for any manager to replace the legendary Jurgen Klopp, but Slot has done an impressive job at Feyenoord and it seems he is now their choice.

Romano isn’t sure yet when this will be officially confirmed, but it seems like it’s only a matter of time before the clubs decide when to make it public.

“Some Liverpool fans have been keen to know when we will get an official announcement about Arne Slot becoming the new manager, but I have no information on that at the moment – it is up to the clubs to decide when they will be so announced. Romano said.

“However, rest assured that there is no news of this – it is a done deal. It is all set, as previously reported, with the clubs agreeing to compensation, while the Dutch coach has also agreed his contract with Liverpool.

LFC writer Neil Jones recently discussed Slot’s appointment in the Daily Briefing column, saying Caught offside: “It’s only a matter of time before Arne Slot is confirmed as Liverpool’s next manager, with everything agreed between both clubs and the man himself.

“For me, it’s a very interesting appointment and one that speaks both to the lack of really outstanding candidates available at this stage and to Liverpool’s willingness to take a risk.”
