Start date confirmed for huge change to traffic-hit Nuneaton junction

A start date has been confirmed for works to make a huge change to a traffic-hit Nuneaton junction. warwickshire-county-council>Warwickshire County Council will be installing traffic signals with pedestrian and cycling crossing facilities on the Heath End Road/Greenmoor Road junction.

In a new traffic order, it has been explained that these works are set to start on Sunday, July 21. They are set to last until Sunday, September 1.




As well as installing hr new crossing, there are also proposals to resurface part of the busy road. Also, as CoventryLive reported, three trees – two on Heath End Road and one on Greenmoor Road – are set to be cut down,

The road traffic order explains that the works will be carried out in phases. But they are likely to impact nearby roads including Chilvers Road as well as Croft Road and Arbury Road.

The full works listed

  • Greenmoor Road – Sunday, July 21 Jul to September 1.
  • Greenmoor Rd/Bull Ring (College St)/Heath End Rd – Three weekends, 8am until 4pm – Saturday, August 17 and Sunday, August 18, Saturday, August 24 and Sunday, August 25 and Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1 .

The order says that there will be diversions in place during the weekday and also weekend works.
This will be Heath End Road, Arbury Road, Croft Road and vice versa. Weekend diversion –
College Street, Chilvers Rise, Coventry Road (RBT), Coton Road, Jubilee Way, Queens Road, Croft Road, Arbury Road and vice versa.
