Mason Greenwood calls for Manchester United transfer as frustration mounts

Greenwood is desperate to sort out his future, having already started his own personal pre-season training.

He was put to work on a £100-an-hour plastic pitch in Manchester, working alongside Shola Shoretire – himself looking to leave United in his quest for regular first-team football this season.

Greenwood spent his last term on loan in Spain with Getafe and chairman Angel Torres would love to have him back in the Spanish capital.

He said Radio Marca in May: “If it’s up to the boy and the parents, he’ll go on for another year. Manchester, the news we’ve had since last week, the thing is if there’s a good offer he’d like to sell. Because he’s not coming back there.

“So we will have to wait a month and a half or two months, until the end of June. But it depends on him and the family. They are very comfortable and very happy with the fans.

“He hadn’t played for 16 months when he arrived and we got him back, he scored eight goals in the League and two in the Cup and put in a great performance.”
