Leicester City have signed Bobby De Cordova-Reid on a free transfer

Leicester City have completed the signing of Bobby De Cordova-Reid on a free transfer.

De Cordova-Reid, 31, was a free agent after his Fulham contract expired at the end of last month.

“Coming here was a special moment, to look around and see the infrastructure,” De Cordova-Reid said after signing a three-year contract with the newly-promoted side. β€œIt has that wow factor. It feels good. I’m excited to be here and can’t wait to get started.

“I had a good talk with the manager, he told me the vision of the club. I talked to him a few times and it was very clear to me what he wanted and what he saw in me. He believes in me and is a perfect fit for me.”

De Cordova-Reid was part of the management group in the Fulham dressing room and the versatile wide midfielder has been offered a two-year deal to stay at Craven Cottage.

The Jamaican international joined Fulham, initially on loan, in 2019 and went on to make over 200 appearances for the club. He played 41 times for Fulham last term, scoring seven goals.

Leicester won the Championship title last season to return to the top flight at the first attempt.

They are in the market for further attacking additions after losing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Dennis Praet and are considering a move for Callum O’Hare, who left Coventry City last month.

De Cordova-Reid is Leicester’s first signing under new manager Steve Cooper, who replaced Enzo Maresca last month.
