How the Super League standings look after the Catalans Dragons win at Hull KR

Catalans Dragons won 15-14 over Hull KR at Sewell Group Craven Park on Saturday thanks to a Theo Fages drop goal.

Victory for Steve McNamara’s side moves them to just two points adrift in the Super League table, with Hull KR in fourth and the Catalans in fifth.

Wigan Warriors, who currently hold all four available trophies, sit at the top of the ladder with 26 points: four points behind second-placed St Helens as the two rivals meet in Friday’s derby at the Brick Community Stadium.

It’s worth noting that Matt Peet’s side also have a game in hand on Saints, who are against neighbors Leigh Leopards. The clash was postponed in February due to Wigan’s involvement in the World Club Challenge, with the second round fixture being rearranged for Tuesday 6 August.

Meanwhile, in third, Warrington Wolves and Hull KR are level on points with St Helens: only behind Paul Wellens’ side on points difference.

As mentioned above, the Catalans are in fifth place, just above Salford Red Devils, who occupy the sixth and final play-off spot. Paul Rowley’s side have a game in hand on the Dragons and Salford host Hull FC in the final match of the Round of 16 on Sunday afternoon. If the Red Devils win, they will leapfrog the Catalans into fifth place.

Just outside the play-off places are Leeds Rhinos, who sit just two points behind the Catalans and Salford after a golden 17-16 win over bottom club London Broncos on Saturday.

It’s safe to say the race for the Super League play-offs is well and truly on as we enter the end of the business season with just four points separating second and seventh.

Here’s a look at the Super League table at the moment, with Salford set to host Hull FC on Sunday afternoon in the final game of the Round of 16.
